I’ve just inherited a GTX 970 graphics card and can only get it to work if I boot the pc without the HDMI cable plugged in. I know other users have had issues with the H61/2ABF combo and certain newer cards so maybe I should just count myself lucky that I can get the MB and GPU to get along in the first place!
I was wondering though whether updating my bios would cure my own issue? I currently have bios AMI 7.14
Many thanks in advance!

Yes most of the time Bios updates solve known issues and compatibility.Use HP Assistant to see if there is an update available for your system.
