I am currently running windows 10 64 bit on my compaq 6000 pro micro tower pc and wanted to update the bios to the current version but when going to the drivers and bios download page for my pc windows 10 does not appear in the OS list. Would I be able to upgrade the bios without worry if I am running an OS that is not on the list or would I have to downgrade to windows 8 which is the latest OS that is listed on the drivers and bios download page?

Since that is an older BIOS file, you can flash it in DOS, with some extra work. That way reinstalling Windows 8 will not be necessary. You can try to run it in Windows 10, but it might complain about it. Once you have the file on the PC, open it with 7-Zip. Need to install 7-Zip on the hosting PC. Right Click on the folder (it appears to be unmarked) then pick open with 7-Zip. Double click on the folder marked DOS Flash. The file marked 7G_203.bin is the BIOS file. Open the README.txt for directions.
I'm not an HP employee.

Hi, @Plutarco9990
Here are the step-by-step instructions to update the BIOS using the F10 setup BIOS flash method.
Using this method, you will update the BIOS without being in Windows.
Get a reliable USB flash drive. Format it with the FAT 32 file system.
Download and run the v2.03 bios update file.

You can do this with W10 installed.
An information page will open.
Follow the instructions for the F10 Setup BIOS Flashing section.
Click on the View Contents of the DOS Flash Folder.
Copy the file contents of the DOS flash folder to your USB flash drive.
Just the files, not the folder.
Restart the PC. Tap the ESC key to get the menu of options.
Select the F10 system setup option.
On the file tab, select the Flash System ROM command.
Select the USB flash drive.
The PC should now see the BIOS update files on the flash drive.
Follow the on-screen instructions to update the BIOS.
