I didnt explain the problem properly but got help through phone. Most likely it was just the restart after update that went wrong due to the fact that I asked the computer to do several updates at the same  time. Just a hard restart and everything seems fine.

Thanks anyway for trying.

Hi

NO.

First please try this...
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01684768/

This works for most HP Laptops (and some Desktops)...

To perform a power reset on a laptop with a sealed or non-removable battery:
Turn off the computer.
Remove the computer from any port replicator or docking station.
Disconnect all external connected peripheral devices such as USB storage devices, external displays, and printers.
Unplug the AC adapter from the computer.
For most laptops, press and hold the Power button for 15 seconds to reset.

Next is ...  https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02693833

  1. Turn off the computer, and then connect the power cord.
  2. Press and hold the Windows key and the B key at the same time, and then press and hold the power button for 2 to 3 seconds.
  3. Release the Power button but continue pressing the Windows and B keys. You might hear a series of beeps.
The HP BIOS Update screen displays and the recovery begins automatically. Follow any on-screen prompts to continue the startup to complete the recovery.
