We had a power outage after that system would not boot. I had to reset Bios by removing the jumper now I have no sound. Working with hp many times with driver updates and all the other possibilities still on luck So I am thinking maybe it has something to do with the bios being out of date???

A CMOS reset caused the BIOS to default to "safe" mode.
That generally means disabling all the bells and whistles.
Check the bios and look for the following
AHCI: enabled. If combo of "Raid/AHCI" then use that. If you see IDE mode for drive then select something with AHCI
Enable sound,
Enable secure boot or EFI or both.
There are possibly a huge number of BIOS options for EFI bios. Someone more knowledgeable with your system is better qualified.
Do NOT program the bios. Something got damaged by the power glitch but since it is booting then just find the problem with the sound and don't make things worse. Try headphone jack. Does the device manager show any problems? Audio troubleshooter say all is ok?

Hi, @Charliecl3
See if installing this W10 IDT audio driver and restarting the PC gets the sound to work again.
This package provides the Tempo High Definition Audio Driver for supported desktop models that are running a supported operating system.

@Charliecl3 -- We had a power outage --------------- now I have no sound.
Do not rule-out the possibility of a power-surge "frying" the audio circuits on the motherboard. Ouch!
Maybe, installing an add-in audio-card will bypass the audio circuits on the motherboard, to provide sound?
Compare to changing-out a flat automobile tire by the spare tire.

Okay, let me start from the beginning. We lost household power after that system would not boot.. After trying all the easy stuff with no success I had to reset the jumper on the motherboard after that system booted. However no sound? After working with HP support for two weeks and still no sound. The problem is the computer does not see the device (red X next to icon.) If the computer doesn't see the right bios all the other ***bleep*** doesn't matter. I don't believe it's the speakers, I have tried headphones to eliminate that possibility the only common thing is the bios. Now I am no PC expert however I have worked on mainframes all over the world so I do think I have a little bit of common sense, BIOS is the problem and the real problem is I don't no how to get the rights configuration of Bios. HP is little help when it comes to resetting bios it seems.

To compare, if your automobile has one flat tire, then replace that component, to restore your vehicle to a fully-working status.
In your case, enter BIOS SETUP, "disable" the onboard sound, and "save".
Then, purchase and connect any add-in PCI sound-card into your desktop system.
Example, for $17: MMNOX Startech 4.1 Channel PCI Sound Card (PCI01) | Best Buy Canada
Connect your speakers to it.
Done.

Have you tried installing the driver proposed by @Paul_Tikkanen
What happens, error message, nothing ??
Product: pavlion 8h 1300mz
check / confirm the pattern, it doesn't look correct!
If the bios was out, the computer probably wouldn't work at all.
which jumper did you move exactly?
