Black screen with start up

HP Recommended
HP Pavilion 17
Microsoft Windows 8 (64-bit)

Few months ago i had sometimes a problem with Black screen by starting up the computer. This was fixed after a hard reset. But now this is not working any more. Connection with external monitor is fine, i checked the latest drivers.

I tried to use the Bios key ( Did worked once). I reseat the memory modules. Also i did a complete system test ( harddrive, memory) all fine!

What can i do more? Should I reinstall my computer?

Hi

Run a Diagnostic on the Hard Disk first, and if you can make backups etc as a precaution.

Thanks, I run the diagnostics of the hard drive and was fine.

By the drivers i tried to download and run the bios download file again. There was an error, program not installed good, try to run with compatibility. But it didn’t do anything. By formatting and reinstall the computer, will the bios also be done?

Hi

If the hardware passes then you can try a BIOS update/repair...

AND/OR a repair using a DVD/USB from here...

The BIOS sometimes has a backup version on the HDD, but if the HD is problematic then you may have to get a working system again before trying.

If in doubt please ask.
