Hi there, I have a brand new HP Omen 40L with the z690 chipset, and it has one spare PCIe 3.0 x4 slot which does work with an old basic video capture card, but when fitting a Blackmagic Decklink Duo 2 card it is not being recognised or seen in device manager or any software?
The fan on the card is powering up ok.
The card works perfectly in a Thunderbolt chassis with a Razer Blade laptop.
is this something that needs configuring in BIOS?
if so, how do you configure the bios?
many thanks

Have you downloaded and installed the software?

The manufacturer states that the firmware is in the software.

Hi there, I have indeed done all these things.
the card doesn’t show up at all in device manager (software or no software)
the card isn’t faulty, it works perfectly in a Thunderbolt chassis with a Razer laptop….it’s quite a new card, just a few months old, and never let me down.
I just need it fitted in the desktop

What do you mean by a "Thunderbolt chassis "?
If you mean a power power enclosure, does it work when plugged into the Omen superspeed USB port?
It is unfortunate that the Z690 chipset that your Omen's motherboard has does not include a USB 3.2 Type-C Gen 3 port with Thunderbolt capability.

Hi again,
A thunderbolt chassis is a chassis that holds any chosen PCIe card and connects to the computer (Razer Blade Pro 17) via thunderbolt.
I have several of these chassis with different capture cards fitted.
I’ve now ordered an Asus ATX motherboard with a Thunderbolt 4 Pcie card that I’ll be swapping out the BlizzardOC board with, so should be able to fit my capture card and have the option of hot-swappable thunderbolt devices

Ah.
A thunderbolt 3 pcie expansion chassis.
I have never had to bother with one as I have always done a Gaming PC build which has lots of room and up to date ports.

I do live video streaming for corporate events, so I don’t know what configuration I’m going to need from one day to the next…mainly the thunderbolt chassis boxes are added as needed for extra camera inputs/video outputs.
I bought the HP Omen to use as a more powerful solution for really big events, and mainly using NDI IP cameras along with SDI camera inputs and remote callers presenting on big venue screens to an auditorium full of people.
This new addition of the Asus motherboard with thunderbolt 4 Pcie card should make it quite a formidable workhorse alongside my Razer laptops. (and look quite pretty in the tech booth haha!)
Many thanks for your input, was all very much appreciated 🙂

You're welcome.
That ASUS board should be just what you need.
