Installed Kingston 500MD SSD created from the cloned HDD. System has trouble booting - a variable number of blue screens follow with eventual full boot. Once booted system behaves perfectly - much faster than on the old HDD.
Kingston firmware is up to date.
Not sure if I'm running the latest BIOS for the system?? Currently AMI 80.11 dated 26/4/2014.
Any ideas why this is happening?

Greetings,
Welcome to the forum.
I am not a HP employee.
Did you happen to capture any of the boot time error messages? Was the source storage device OS installation stable?
What software did you use to clone the SSD? Try Macrium Reflect free (Link).
Is the BIOS set to AHCI?
Sound like the clone may have some issues. Try running the System File Checker on the SSD to check for errors (Link).
There is a BIOS update but the fixes don't reference any stability enhancements (Link).

Hi
The SSD has been replaced once by Kingston - this has made no difference in behaviour.
Error messages seem a bit random.
With the first SSD I captured Bugcheck code: 0xFC (0xFFFFF8083D752DC8, 0x8900000411E73821, 0xFFFFBF8BF1FC71B0, 0x2)
Error: ATTEMPTED_EXECUTE_OF_NOEXECUTE_MEMORY
file path: C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\mfeaack.sys
and
ntkrnlmp.exe (nt!KiBugCheckDispatch+0x69)
Bugcheck code: 0x3B (0x80000003, 0xFFFFF8034B6CC0A5, 0xFFFFB907A4763740, 0x0)
Error: SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION
(get several of these)
(Taken from Whocrashed)
The BIOS is set to AHCI and I have tried disabling Fast Boot and Secure Boot (as suggested by Kingston support)
SFC returns clear.
I have tried to update the BIOS (with the original HDD installed) using SP88812.exe from your shortcut (thanks) but get an error message saying there is not enough disk space for the necessary files. Not sure where it's looking as I have an EFI partition which is an empty 360MB, the C Drive has 269GB free, the Recovery Image partition has 1.38GB free, RE Tools partition has 532MB free, OEM Partition has 462MB.
free.

Hi Skibird,
You are seeing blue screens and random anomalous operating system behavior. BTW, MFEAACk is installed by McAfee A-V. Try removing McAfee from your PC to see if this helps.
You might want to run Windows Memory Diagnostics or go here (Link) to download MemTest86 (free version).
Set MemTest86 up on a USB stick. boot to this stick and run MemTest. Run this test for a considerable amount of time like overnight.
Try reseating the memory modules (reboot). Or try one stick of memory in each slot, one at a time, reboot each time to see if you have a bad memory module.
Is it possible to connect the source HDD and check for the same symptoms? If the source HDD works fine and memory is good then there is a problem with the clone or a problem with the Kingston storage devices.
Or do a new disk copy/clone. Maybe try Macrium Reflect free. I use this software with great results.
