@KaifX, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your built-in camera is not working on your HP laptop. Let’s go through a few steps to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:
Check Camera Privacy Settings
- Press Windows + I to open Settings.
- Go to Privacy & Security > Camera.
- Ensure Camera access and Let apps access your camera are both turned ON.
- Scroll down and make sure the specific app you're using (e.g., Zoom, Teams) has permission.
Check Device Manager
- Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
- Expand Cameras or Imaging Devices.
- Right-click your camera (e.g., HP TrueVision HD) and select Enable device if it's disabled.
- If already enabled, right-click and choose Update driver > Search automatically for drivers.
Reinstall the Camera Driver
- In Device Manager, right-click your camera and select Uninstall device.
- Restart your laptop. Windows should reinstall the driver automatically.
Use HP Support Assistant
- Open HP Support Assistant (or download it from HP Support Assistant | HP® Support).
- Go to My Devices > Updates and check for any camera or BIOS updates.
- Install any available updates and restart your laptop.
Test the Camera
- Open the Camera app from the Start menu to check if the camera is working.
- If it still doesn’t work, try using it in another app like Zoom or Skype.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
