I have been trying to burn an ISO of windows 11 onto a DVD+R DL; but I keep getting the error message "ERROR OX80070571 Disk structure unreadable." I do believe this system is capable of burning a double layer DVD; I am not certain. How can I check? The system recognizes the disk as having a capacity of 8.5 GB; but always stops at this error and trashes these expensive disks. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Unfortunately, the parts list shows 3 different DVD part numbers and none of them indicate whether or not the drive can burn dual layer DVD's.
The only suggestion I can offer would be to install one of the available free software programs that will let you know exactly what your PC's optical drive is capable of doing.
I've used the Nero Info Tool in the past to see what my PC's DVD drive is capable of doing.

Thanks. I do see the parts "DVD - 8X SMD 9.5 UST NoBzl HLDS," "DVD - 8X SMD 9.5 ST NoBzl" and "ODD Assembly - HAL, SMD."
Shouldn't my system have a way of reporting the actual component to me? and Wouldn't HP have specs on these components? I would like to find out if HP has an updated driver.
Thanks again

You're very welcome.
I looked around for that information, and that's all that turns up.
As I wrote the other day, the Nero Info Tool will provide everything you ever wanted to know about the drive.
You can find the file download on 3rd party driver sites.
Just google 'Nero Info Tool."
The installation file is too large for me to attach, or I would have done so.

Thank you. I found and ran Nero info tool. My drive DOES support DVD+R DL discs which Nero DOES confirm is the current disc in the drive. Interestingly, it was initially recognized as 'an unsupported disc type' which required me to 'skip' the 'speeds test.' So something is definitely not right; but what is it? ..suggestions please.
Thank you.

You're very welcome.
I just installed a regular DVD in the drive, and it ran the test.
Unfortunately, I have no experience troubleshooting DVD issues, and in the rare situations I have experienced a problem, I replaced the drive which so far has always worked for me.
