Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HP ENVY PHOENIX DSKTOP 860-170. WHICH DIRECTION IS CASE FAN TO BE INSTALLED?  I REMOVED IT FOR CLEANING AND AN NOT SURE I REINSTALLED IT PROPERLY.  UNABLE TO FIND INFO ON THIS ELSEWHERE.

Hi,

 

The diametric structural elements of a rear case fan should be against the rear chassis. The free spinning part of the fan is located inside the case. This moves air from the case to the outside environment.

 

Check using a piece of paper at the rear of the case to verify air is pushing the paper away from the chassis when the fan is running.
