Hi does anyone know if 

HP Pro SFF 290 G9 Desktop PC (7A4B6AV)

will accept an internal CD DVD Writer, system is Win 11 Pro

Hi:

 

It will but you will need to see what internal parts are missing in your PC that would be needed to add one.

 

Below is the link to the parts list for a random 290 G9 SFF

 

HP PartSurfer

 

You can find all of the related parts for a CD/DVD-RW drive under the 'Unknown keyword' section.

 

L46737-001
Assembly SLIM ODD LATCH 95
L79428-001
SPS-CA Power ODD SATA 280G4 SFF
M75172-001
SKO-ODD SuperMultiDVDRW 9.5 U-Slim NoBzl
N18752-001
SPS-Bezel Slim ODD 280 G9 SFF

 

Once you have determined what parts you need, you can see if they are available from HP at the link below:

 

The HP Parts Store - HP Computer Parts - HP Printer Parts - HP parts - hp batteries - SSD - printhea...

 

You may want to consider purchasing a USB DVD-RW drive if you don't use the DVD drive that often.

I bought this model several years ago for use in my notebook PC's that don't have DVD drives.

 

Currently, all of my desktop PCs have DVD burners.
