Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

Today I noticed that my cd/dvd drive does not work with empty (burnable) discs anymore. The device is not recognized with an empty disc. Reading other discs works perfectly fine.

I know for sure this has been working last year. I suspect Windows 10 anniversery update caused the problem. The device log shows that the device was 'migrated' during this update.

Device is hp CDDVDW TS-653RSCSI CdRom Device.

I can't find new device drivers for this hardware. Disabling/enabling did not work.

How can i get this working?

Marcel

Thanks Dean!

The registry fix (LowerFilters) made the drive accessible. I also needed to update my burning software (cdburnerxp). I am now able to burn cds. Many thanks.

Regards,

Marcel
