Product: SH-216AL/HPTHF CD/DVD player/burner
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I bought a refurbished HP computer from an eBay seller.

It came with SH-216AL/HPTHF CD/DVD player/burner.

The issue is that the player/burner plays and burns CDs, but it will not play DVDs.

Is it a driver issue or what?

Hi:

 

Did the PC come with DVD playing software?

 

W10 does not have built in DVD playing software because Microsoft didn't want to pay royalties to the software companies that make such programs.

 

You can install the free VLC DVD playing software from the Microsoft store.

 

Get VLC UWP - Microsoft Store
