The cd/dvd player on my hp rp5700 is not recognizing blank media. Anything no matter how old the disk is that has datd on it will be seen and played. It show up in device manager, i've uninstalled and reinstalled the device. i connot find any software updates for it. It will spin up when the disk is put in but I think thats jusy what its supposed to do to loacte data if there. It's labeled as a dvd multi player model Hp DVD D DH16D6SH ATA. Is it possible this device is read only?
