HP Desktop PC M01-F3000i (6W2P2AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I have an HP Desktop PC M01-F3000i (6W2P2AV) which the MB is a 8B3C A (SMVB) and shows compatibility with the  Intel® Core™ i7-13700F (up to 5.2 GHz with Intel® Turbo Boost Technology, 30 MB L3 cache, 16 cores, 24 threads).

I got the processor and installed it (yes, properly - verified). When I boot up the system starts but goes into the perpetual beep process (seems 3 long 3 short). I put the i5 back in and it works fine. Updated BIOS and still have same issue.

System works with the i5, but goes in stupid mode with the i7 - what am I missing and why can't this work like it should?

Sounds to me like you have a PC that only came with the onboard Intel graphics adapter.

Any Intel processor that ends in a 'F' can only work with a PCIe x 16 graphics card.

If you don't have a PCIe x 16 graphics card installed, that is the cause of your dilemma.

The 3.3 error code indicates a problem with the graphics.

Got that earlier as well. however, I had a Gigabyte GTX 1050 Ti D5 4G GPU (Card Bus PCI-E 3.0 x 16)

installed and it did the same thing. Or am I misreading this?

That card should have worked fine.

It doesn't need a supplemental power connector and your PC's motherboard supports the processor you installed.

So, if the GTX 1050 was installed and working fine with the original i5 processor, then I have no idea what the problem could be,

Welcome to my nightmare...lol

It makes no sense why the i7 won't work. From everything I've read I shouldn't have an issue with what I have installed.
