Hello !
Recently I have upgraded the HP Prodesk 600 by switching power supply, ram, disks, case and I also added new GPU.
Now in the PC there is a Intel Core I 3 6100 and I would like to upgrade but what I have read from the internet. The latest CPUs I can install are the 6 gen Intels. The 7 gen shouldnt be compatible even after bios update right ? So now I am choosing between I 7 6700 and I 7 6700K and I am not sure if I 7 7600K would provide better performance because of the motherboard that is in taken from HP ProDesk 600.

Hi:
Your PC only supports the Skylake processors, so the i7-7700K processor or any other 7th gen core processors will not work.
Here's a side-by-side comparison of the two processors you are interested in installing.
Intel® Product Specification Comparison
My concern is this:
The parts list for the PC with the i3 processor indicates it is only rated for up to 65W and the i7-6700K is a 91W processor.

The i7-6700K will work fine as long as you provide sufficient cooling for it.
If you look at this userbenchmarking website, there are reports of users that have installed the i7-6700K processor in their PC's.

So what I have seen on the benchmarks even that I 7 6700 should get up to 4 Ghz on turbo on average it gets around 3,7Ghz and the I 7 6700K got around 3,9GHz which mean the motherboard wont let the open cpu overclock. So that means it doesnt matter which from these two I buy because MB doesnt support overclocking is that right ?
