I just purchased a HP CPU Fan with a sink part number 644724-001 for a HP PC h8-1360t 1.00.

Is the fan the correct part number for this PC and also no heat sink goop came with the unit but there is a

plastic cap on the bottom of sink. Is the goop pre-applied under this cap?

Thanks

Hi

The HP fan/heatsink should work on your PC (HPE h8 1360t CTO- B4J27AV). Your product is on the list of supported products.

Pull the plastic from the bottom of the heatsink to check for pre-applied thermal compound.

You may have to buy Arctic Silver or MX-4 if no thermal compound is present on the heatsink heat spreader.

Remove the existing thermal compound from the CPU. Apply new thermal compound only to the CPU if there is no pre-applied thermal compound on the heatsink.

Just a follow up,

I just removed the new fan from the new heat sink and replaced just the fans. So far much less noise and vibrations.

Hi roymg1

Sounds good.

You can always replace the heatsink if needed.
