Hello there, i was asking myself.
I have an HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop TG01-2123nl currently having a ryzen 5 5600g on a HP 8906 erica 6 motherboard.
i recently installed a new gpu a rx6500xt that supports pcIe 4.0, but the 5600g supports the 3.0, on the supported cpu list i can find only G products, but if i swap the 5600g with a 5600 (that supports pcIe 4.0) will the motherboard read it? Thanks in advance

Hi @spanaaa ,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop TG01-2123nl comes with an HP 8906 Erica 6 motherboard and originally features a Ryzen 5 5600G processor. While the motherboard might support PCIe 4.0, the CPU's PCIe version is determined by the processor itself.

I hope this helps.

Thank you but this is not the answer to my question, I was asking myself if i can put a standard RYZEN 5 5600 which supports PcIe 4.0 instead of the RYZEN 5 5600g that supports PcIe 3.0
thank you in advance!
