Product: HP Z220 CMT WorkStation
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I'm farily new to this, and I want to know if my Z220 CMT WorkStation can upgrade to a third gen i7 3770 intel CPU. It currently has a Sandy Bridge i7 2600 on it with a bios version:  k51 s01.61. Will I need to implement any changes to the motherboard? Or Update the exisiting bios? Thanks in advance.

The supported processors can be found on pages 3 & 4.

It doesn't appear to me like you will have do do a thing but to install the processor.

 

I wonder why yours has the i7-2600 processor?

 

It isn't listed as a supported processor.
