hi. I'm looking to upgrade the CPU and cooling solution on my HP Pavilion Gaming TG01-1163no

I was wondering if a Ryzen 7 5800x or 5800x3d would work with my pc. and what brackets i need to fit a new cooler on the motherboard.

HP has validated the following CPUs with your MB's factory BIOS.

 

Your CPU upgrade choices are not on the list.

 

It's anybody's guess if the 5800 CPUs will be detected by the factory BIOS. I can't find any BIOS updates for your MB SSID: 87D6.

 

Maybe a different Forum member can find a BIOS update for your MB which adds additional CPU support.

Ah alright. Might as well just build a new pc and keep the gpu then. didn't realize the mobo / Bios was that limited.
