I want to upgrade the CPU cooler on my mother board with a cooler master 212 is that possible. The back plate for the stock Intel CPU cooler on the back motherboard from what I have seen lookes like it is permanently attached
Mother board is a Thimphu-K

Greetings,
Welcome to the forum.
I am not a HP employee.
I have never worked with this HP motherboard.
It has a Z170 chipset and is a socket 1151. This socket does not usually have a integrated backplate.
HP may have modified this. If HP has installed a permanent backplate then the question is: will the HP backplate threads match the 212 screws?
Installing a CM Hyper 212 may be possible. You have to compare the dimensions of the 212 against your motherboard and the chassis.
The location of the RAM slots, or capacitors, or the VRMs may cause an installation issue.
The height of the 212 may exceed the width of the chassis. You may not be able to attach the side panel if this is true.
Regards
