Victus by HP 15L Gaming Desktop PC TG02-0000i (491A8AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello all,

I have a Victus HP15L Desktop. I am having some cooling issues and trying to search for fans that are stronger and compatible with the current one.

My current CPU is an Intel I7 12700F, and the fan is an HP 644724-001. This factory fan is not so powerful, and I was wondering if I could get some recommendations on what I can buy/replace.

Thank you,

@ArkLade,

Welcome to our HP community forum!

My personal preference for one of the best -and most affordable air-cooling heatsinks, is the 7-heat pipe Thermalright PS120SE.  I have purchased this air cooler twice to (very) successfully cool overclocked i9-9900KF and i9-9900KS gaming systems:

Your Victus by HP 15L Gaming Desktop PC TG02-0000i (491A8AV) as fitted with a Reno2 motherboard (SSID: 89B5) and an LGA1700 processor socket.  Looking inside your case, there should be sufficient room to install this air cooler -though maybe with the center cooling fan only:

Another great air cooler option is the ID-COOLING SE-207-XT Slim:

The only hassle is that you'll likely have to remove your motherboard in order to install the heatsink installation bracket on the bottom-side of your motherboard.  But this is something you'll have to do when picking a non-HP heatsink solution anyway.

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,

Thank you so much! This is exactly what I needed.
Just to confirm, both of your recommendations require removal of the mainboard to install the bracket at the back side of the main board...right?

@ArkLade,

Affirmative.

@ArkLade,

Lest I forget to mention it, the only potential issue could be that your particular desktop may have little room beneath your motherboard in order to accommodate the installation of the air cooler bracket (unlike industry standard PC cases), even though this (flat) bracket hardly takes any space at all.  If you encounter this, let me know.
