CPU fan power cycles on and off every 10 seconds. only stays on for about 2 seconds.  Upon reboot, i get a CPU Fan error.  Will replacing the fan fix this problem?  Unit is 3 weeks past 1 year warranty 😞

Problem Solved.  Replaced CPU fan once I found the right part number.  HP support gave me the part number for a Chassis fan not CPU Fan.  Ordered Chassis fan, then discovered the error.  I opened the unit and googled the mfg part number on the fan >> Cooler master FA08025M12LPA.  Ordered part, $14.99  arrived in 3 days, replaced and works great.

@ranchoscott,

Have you ever cleaned the fan blades?

Without removing the heatsink, have you cleaned the debris/dust from between the heatsink fins?

Yes I blew it out with my aero duster can.  No change in symptom. on for 2 sec then off then repeat 10 seconds later. I can set a watch by it.
