I - like a lot of other HP owners- started getting this issue- after the CPU fan was speeding up then slowing down- I replaced the fan - cleaned all of the dust off- etc- still the same problem.
I have never had a computer problem like this- and may never bu another HP as a result- but for now- any suggestions on how to fix it would be great.
It's got a little age on it- but it has hardly any usage.
Thank You

It seems like you're experiencing an issue with your HP Pavilion Desktop where you're encountering a CPU fan error (error 90B) due to temperature issues.
Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem:
Check the CPU Fan Connection: Ensure that the CPU fan is properly connected to the motherboard. Sometimes, loose connections can cause the fan to malfunction or not work optimally.
Update BIOS: Sometimes, updating the BIOS (Basic Input/Output System) can help resolve temperature-related issues. Visit HP's official website, find your desktop model, and look for BIOS updates available for download.
Monitor CPU Temperature: Install software to monitor your CPU temperature. Programs like Core Temp or HWMonitor can help you keep track of your CPU temperature in real-time. This will give you an idea of whether the temperature is actually rising to problematic levels.
Check Thermal Paste Application: If the CPU has been removed or if you've replaced the CPU fan, make sure that the thermal paste between the CPU and the heatsink is applied properly. Improper application of thermal paste can lead to poor heat dissipation, causing temperature issues.
Inspect Airflow: Ensure that the airflow within the case is not obstructed. Make sure that all vents are clear of dust and debris and that there is adequate airflow around the CPU and other components.
Consider CPU Cooler Replacement: If the CPU cooler is not functioning correctly despite being replaced, you might want to consider replacing it with a better aftermarket cooler. There are various CPU coolers available that offer better performance and heat dissipation compared to stock coolers.
I hope this helps! Keep me posted.
