I have the Z240 Tower Workstation with Windows 11 Version 21H2. I am unable to force the hardware to go to 22H2. It appears that I can update the TPM 2.0 but there is an error with the CPU (Intel Core i7-6700k CPU @ 4.00GHz). Has anyone upgraded the Z240 so it could get Windows 11 Version 22H2 on it? And if so, what was done to accomplish this, and what Windows 11 approved CPU was used? We have to get it updated to the 22H2 Version so our 2021 QB will work properly. Any help would be most appreciated!

you have a workstation class system and posting in the workstation forum is highly recommended
you can install any version of windows 11 by following the official MS method or by using 3rd party methods to bypass the TPM/CPU checks during the install of the OS
i prefer to download the official win 11 "ISO" image from microsoft and then use the program "RUFUS" to extract the ISO to a USB key and during the win-11 usb key creation rufus will ask if you want to remove the cpu/tpm checks on the created win-11 usb key installer
once you do a clean os install this way it will receive all MS security and feature updates unless MS changes something in the future
Download Windows 11 Disk Image (ISO) for x64 devices

Thank you for your reply. The question is can this be done without doing a clean install? We are an eCommerce company and it is very hard to reinstall the software and all apps to make everything work together.

a in place upgrade can possibly be done, search the internet for previous guides that cover this
my personal take on this is that compienes which use systems to make money are better served replacing the existing hardware with newer equipment that has proper support options
last, win 11 22h2 is a FEATURE update your older version will get the same security updates as 22h2 but will not have the new features of the 22h2 build
and since windows 10 is still supported on your existing systems till 2025 you have the time to plan for replacing your existing hardware with newer hardware that is winn 11 compatable
