What socket type does this have? When i look at HP specifications it says
- HP name: Erica5
- SSID: 87D7
- Socket type: LGA 1200
- Processor: AMD Ryzen 5
To my knowledge, thats not possible to have an intel socket and an AMD CPU. Since this PC is only weeks old I guessed that AM4 would be the most likely Socket type but after trying 2 different CPU cooler/fans claiming "universal fit" & to work on both LGA 1200 and AM4 both do not fit. Any help would be greatly appreciated -
WHAT SOCKET TYPE DO I HAVE? (M01-F1046 / AMD Ryzen™ 5 4600G)
thank you

Thanks for replying, I'm still at a loss as to how to upgrade the cpu cooler. The CPU is obviously AM4 but the bolt pattern for the heatsink is LGA 1155 /1200. The lGA coolers are pushpin and the AM4 are threaded. What the hell HP?

You are talking orange and apple here. No matter what, motherboard for Intel processors won't work nor physically fit AMD processors.
Full stop.
Regards.

Well apparently folks at HP are drinking the Kool aid because the HP M01-F0046 is running an AMD Ryzen/AM4 socket with an underpowered Intel heatsink/fan socket LGA 1155/1200. The socket itself AMD. The heatsink fan INTEL.
