SR5710 F  -   I  installed a new CPU -  amd athlon 64 x 2 4800+ 2.5 ghz dual core -  will not post.  Put old one back in; it posts. Do I have to do anything like change some jumpers or something or just stick it in.  It should work, right ?   Bad  CPU  ?

Thanks, Tim

Welcome to the forum @timmoore36

From your specs you should be able to just drop the  Athlon 64 x 2 4800 in and GO.

I checked and there is no BIOS update needed???

The Athlon 64 x 2 4800 has a 94% success rate???

The  Athlon 64 x 2 4800 is 65watts and the  AMD Athlon X2 4450e is 45watts???

The stepping for the AMD Athlon X2 4450e is BH-G2

The stepping for the Athlon 64 x 2 4800 is G1-G2

Sounds like the Athlon 64 x 2 4800  could be bad???
