HP PRo 3305
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I'm trying to upgrade the old dual core Athlon 260 to a quad core. I've picked up a known good CPU from the supported list, but the system won't post. Bios is 6.08 (which I think is the most recent).

@Mattypants05,

That unit is so old it is difficult to find online data.  But I did find this document.  Which did you get?

As the HP 3305 began as an WIN 7 OS, that 6.08 BIOS is WIN 7. While it is usable with WIN 10,  6.08 was the final version.

Hi,

The new CPU is an Athlon II X4 635, so supported by the board. I've tried using the CMOS reset, but with no luck. I'll try taking it back to the bare board and see if it just doesn't like some random component.
