Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello!

Recently I upgraded my ram to 64GB (2x32) of DDR4 RAM.

I am thinking about upgrading my CPU, Intel i5 - 10400F.

If it's possible to swap the CPU, what would you all recommend? (I have been looking at the i7-10700F, i7-11700F, i9-10900F, or i9-11900F).

Due to swapping the CPU, I was wondering if 500 watts would be enough

Any responses/recommendations would be extremely helpful.

Thank you in advance, have a nice day!

Hi:

Your PC has the HP 'Baker' motherboard.

The list of supported processors can be found at the link below:

HP Desktop PCs - Motherboard Specifications, Baker | HP® Support

It probably would also support the i9-10900F processor even though it is not listed.

We do not believe the motherboard has support for any Intel 11th generation core processors:

Thank you for the quick response!

Would the PSU be powerful enough to support the i9-10900F?

Thanks for clarifying re 11th gen processors

You're very welcome.

Here is a side-by-side comparison of your PC's current processor and the i9-10900F.

They are the same wattage so your PC's existing power supply should be fine.

You may want to read through this discussion where NonSequitur777 indicates the i9-10900F may not be worth the extra expense over the i7-10700F regarding the performance gain.
