I have a very lightly used 9200t desktop that still works very well, and ok speed with a hardline connection. I am looking to find an upgraded CPU processor, should it in fact be able to be replaced/upgraded.
The current CPU is an Intel Core TMU Duo, E8200, 2.66 GHZ, 3.00 GB

Specs for your M9100t are here
I don't see the Q9650 listed as an option. I upgraded an HP 6000 from e8700 to Q9650 with the only problem having to get into BIOS and raise the CPU fan idle speed.
I was unable to find the BIOS for this model. The links here are no good and I would not trust a 3rd party bios upgrade
If the 3rd party has links to HP then OK
I have (long ago) upgrade core 2 quad to Xeon using the socket 771 to 775 mode as discussed here
https://www.delidded.com/lga-771-to-775-adapter/
You would have to check your bios to see if the microcode for the Xeon is in there. It is also possible to add missing microcode as discussed here
Someone at HP (like a real HP person with an HP badge) needs to show where the bios for the M9200T is so the version history can be looked at. Usually new CPUs are listed as working after the upgrade.

Hi, @MT102
I have zipped up and attached the last BIOS HP update HP released for your PC, below.
The problem is...you are running W10 and the update was only written to be run using Windows Vista or Windows 7.
There is no telling what will happen if you try to update the BIOS using an unsupported operating system.
Here is a copy and paste of the release notes found inside the exe file after using the 7-zip file utility to extract the file into a folder...

Hi:
This discussion (last reply) indicates that the Q9650 works in the Benicia motherboard.

Thanks for all who responded to my question, I did finally get a live HP person who identified an CPU option, but as some stated here it was set to run to run on Windows 7. With the leg work in insuring I have the right bios, I will probably just bite the bullet for a new desktop. I have had much better satisfied with HP desktops v laptops, which at some point just become problematic after a few years.

On my HP6000 and Pro3400 the "win 7" bios updates worked fine under windows 10x64. Dos bios upgrades are a different matter altogether. I hope I never have to boot another floppy again.
