The dimensions of your current graphics card: 277 x 140 x 35mm (LxWxH) in inches are: 10.91 x 1.38 x 5.51.
This means that the RX 580 I referenced will fit in your case. The width of this particular RX 580 (1.61in) is a little more than the card you got (1.38in), but that doesn't matter.
Please note that there are many different brands of RX 580 graphics cards. The dimensions of the RX 580 I referenced only apply to that particular card.
If you want to upgrade to an RX 580, you'll need at least a 500-watt power supply. Please open up your case and read the label on your power supply. It will tell you the part number and wattage.

This is not something you'll have to worry about because you cannot overclock on your desktop. HP has made sure that users cannot use any overclock tool that would work.
If you feel apprehensive towards an i7-4790K, pick the i7-4790 or the i7-4770K, both with 84-watt TDPs.

The stock CPU heatsink is rated for up to 95-watt processors and should cool your Devil's Canyon (i7-4790K) just fine, just like it did for me in my HP EliteDesk 800 G1 Tower upgrade project: Solved: Upgrading an HP EliteDesk 800 G1 TWR - HP Support Community - 8851089.

You shouldn't need any new/additional power cables.
Just so I am clear as to what you purchased besides the legendary Devil's Canyon, please verify what power supply and what GPU did you order?

Yes, the following power supply cables will just plug in your motherboard:
1.) The PSU's 8-pin CPU power cable can be split into two 4-pin power cables, one of them will fit onto your motherboard's 4-pin power slot (in red),
2.) The 24-pin power cable fits in your motherboard's 24-pin power slot:
And that's it: all other power cables you may need (SATA, Molex, 8-pin PCIe for your GPU) are provided by your PSU.
Btw, just make sure you use a quality thermal paste for your i7-4790K, such as Arctic MX-4. Also make sure you apply the thermal paste wisely. Here is an excellent YouTube instructional video: Best Way to Apply Thermal Paste? Does it Even Matter? (youtube.com). Personally, I prefer the 'buttered toast' (spread) approach, but if you haven't worked with thermal paste before, consider the "X" (cross) approach.
