Hi, I would like to upgrade the CPU in my old HP Pavilion Desktop - 570-p013nl. I'm an experienced user and I know how to do it, but I would like to know if there is a list of compatible processors or a guide for upgrades or something like that.

Thanks,

Lucio Bortoletto

Hi:

I believe that your PC comes with the HP 'Lubin' motherboard which supports up to the Intel Core i7-7700 (Kabylake) 3.6 GHz Quad Core processor.

Intel® Core™ i7-7700 Processor

The parts list indicates that the heatsink is rated for up to 65 Watts.

HP PartSurfer

The Lubin motherboard has a BIOS SSID of 82F2.

You can find your PC motherboard's SSID by:

In the search feature on the Windows taskbar:

Type: System Information

Run the app and look for the Baseboard Product line about 1/3 of the way down on the report.

The baseboard product info is the same as the motherboard SSID.

All the links to the Lubin motherboard specs have been removed.

Another forum member had copied and pasted the full list of supported processors when the Lubin motherboard specs link existed.

@luciobortoletto,

And, lest we forgot to mention it, your HP Pavilion Desktop - 570-p013nl as fitted with the Lubin motherboard (SSID: 82F2) is also compatible with all 6th and 7th gen Intel Core "K" processors, such as the i7-7700K, as this HP Pavilion Desktop PC 570-p0XX user shows: HP Pavilion Desktop PC 570-p0XX Performance Results - UserBenchmark.

Kind Regards,

Hi @NonSequitur777

Wouldn't the 65W-rated heat sink need to be upgraded to support the 91W, i7-7700K processor?

That's why I didn't include that one.

@Paul_Tikkanen,

Excellent point -see my response here: ". . .upgrade your 65-watt TDP rated CPU heatsink with a 95-watt TDP rated heatsink with p/n: 644724-001 "Heatsink - 95W, Kidd."

The OP should be able to purchase this heatsink (even in Italy) inexpensively, such as via eBay-Italy.

Kind Regards,
