Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Pavilion 580-023w Power Desktop, I have up graded my cpu to the i7 7700 already and I want to go even bigger. My question is if i pull my mother borad out and transplant it into a bigger chassie what is the maximum cpu i can fit into the motherboard? Can it support any LGA1151 proceesor? I would get new chassie to accommodate the bigger cooler that would be required, I'm currently running an after market cooler master fan on it now.

Greetings,

Welcome to the forum.

A 7700 is the max you can do.

No point in changing the case if the CPU temps are okay.

@Dustin_Sowers , welcome to the forum.

Here is the Product Specifications page for the computer.  If you look at the section titled "Processor/Processor upgrade information" it lists the compatible processors.  These processors have been fully tested to assure that they are compatible with the motherboard.  Upgrading to any other processor is done at your own risk.  Since HP has their motherboards made to their specifications it is a definite possibility that they won't be compatible.

Here is a HP Knowledge Base article that you should read before buying a new case.  It will tell you all of the things to consider before trying to make the move.
