Hoping someone can help, I have a omen gaming PC with the Blizzard l 894A motherboard, it currently has a i5 12400f CPU, according to the website I can upgrade to an "i7 14700" which is what I have done, but when I have replaced it and gone to turn the PC back on, it turns on for 1 second and turns off. The bios has been updated with the latest firmware using HP support tool, I have had to put the old CPU back in. Can anyone help with why it's not turning on

Welcome to our HP Community forum!
Your OMEN by HP 25L Gaming Desktop PC GT14-0000i (3V745AV) as fitted with the BlizzardL motherboard (SSID: 894A) according to HP's BlizzardL motherboard specifications should allow 12th, 13th and 14th gen processors: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_5799854-5799957-16.
However, I haven't seen a single HP System OMEN by HP 25L Gaming Desktop GT14-0xxx (BlizzardL) User with either a 13th or a 14th gen processor: https://www.userbenchmark.com/System/HP-OMEN-by-HP-25L-Gaming-Desktop-GT14-0xxx/266169, and neither does HP PartSurfer for the HP OMEN GT14-0xxx series show even a single PC offered with either a 13th or 14th gen processor: HP PartSurfer.
Meaning, regardless of HP's BlizzardL specs, it appears that HP has not yet released a BIOS update to make 13th and 14th gen processors work in your OMEN by HP 25L GT14 desktop.
The best processors, at the moment at least, are: i7-12700 / i7-12700F, both with a 65-watt TDP and a "Maximum Turbo Power" of 180-watt.
I see no reason why the i9-12900 and the i9-12900F -also with a 65-watt TDP and a "Maximum Turbo Power" of 202-watt, wouldn't also be compatible with your gaming PC.
Kind Regards,

NonSequitur777, Thank you for your comments, it doesn't really help after spending £300+ on a CPU I am being told should work and is compatible.
This page https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_5799854-5799957-16 has been showing it supports this cpu for over 6 months. is there anyone @HP can help?

That is good to know!

You're very welcome, @NonSequitur777
I'm sure this was probably discussed before your tenure as a HP Expert.
Cheers,
