CPU upgrade

Looking to upgrade my HP Omen 40L CPU to a Ryzen 7 7800X3D wondering if this cpu is compatible With the mother board (HP Frostbreath 8A98)

According to HP, the OMEN by HP 40L Gaming Desktop GT21-1xxx as fitted with the FrostbreathOC motherboard (SSID: 8A89), is compatible with the following processors:

So, according to this information, the Ryzen 7 7800X3D is compatible with the FrostbreathOC motherboard.

However...

To cloudy the water just a smidgeon, at the same time HP apparently assigned the same SSID (8A98) to the Frostbreath motherboard (sans the "OC"), where the Ryzen 7 7800X3D is NOT listed as being compatible:

Meaning, I can't tell you for sure if your OMEN is or is not compatible with a Ryzen 7 7800X3D.

Frustrating indeed.

Well, that surely ought to count as the question of the day -heck, in my universe should qualify as the question of the month, isn't it?

My friend, please follow along if you please.  A Best Buy customer recently submitted the very same question, followed by, brace yourself, an "HP Team" member's response:

Perchance you grasp the irony of this kind of non-response.

Apparently, HP doesn't know it. Unfortunately, I can't help you either.
