So I am deciding to upgrade my video card to a GTX 960 from a GTX 645. My question is if I can upgrade in the first place (I am not the most ideal for these kind of situations). The exact specs of my computer is listed here: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04337197 . The exact information of my video card is shown here: http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-960/specifications .
Please help I am dying for a response 😄

Greetings,
Looks good.
The 960 is 9.5 inches in length and requires a 400 W Power Supply.
Check for clearance in the tower. Measure along the 645 to verify you can fit a 9.5 inch to 10 inch card in the case.
The hard drive cage may be in the way.
Check to make sure your Power supply has an auxiliary PCIe cable as the 960 requires an additional six pin connection. The manufacturer will usually provide an adaptor if you need one. Or you can get one online.
Cheers!

Hey Jay this reply is a bit late but I need to know this quickly. Some people say that the HP power supply can not be what it says and could decive you. Can you please double check if the 460w is enough with the specs provided 😄 And BTW the exact video card I will buy is http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487153&cm_re=gtx_960-_-14-487-153-_-Product , Thanks

Hi,
You're welcome.
Don't worry about the power supply (PS).
Nice card. It requires 400 watts. The HP PS will work. If you are in doubt then check a Corsair or Seasonic PS. I just installed a 650 watt fully modular Corsair PS in an Envy 810-150se. Again, you have to verify the measurements.
I'm running an EVGA GTX 970 FTW +Gaming with backplate card.
Just verify the card will fit in your chassis.
Enjoy your new card!
