I bought HP Pavilion Power 580-076cn destop pc in August. It comes with 128G SSD and 1 TB HDD. Now I want to add one 3 TB hard disk to increase the storage space. Is it possible? Or, I have to replace the original 1 TB HDD with the 3 TB hard disk. Anyone knows this? Thanks!

Hi coliny Welcome to your forum!: The way to do this is to is to get your desired 3 TB model as an USB external HD attached to one your unoccupied ports peferably on the rear side
a 2nd way is to get a powered hub with as many ports than you can afford that way you need not worry about having enough power to handle this device & be able to run any new things you might wish
Once you acquire this take out one of the things running on your machine & attach the hub to where the old component was now reinsert the device that was attached to the port now taken up by the hub to the hub then put the hub's plug into either a surge protector or power strip or directly to an outlet
This is what I have on my desk
maybe you can get this where you are
good luck
hope this helps
please come back if you anything else

Hi
HP specs found here indicate no CD/DVD drive included.
The motherboard specs found here show three SATA 6GB ports.
The motherboard will support an additional HDD or SATA SSD.
I could not find any information on how many HDD's the chassis can support.
Remove the side panel (after shutting down and disconnecting main power to your PC) to check for an open HDD installation point.
Similar HP chassis' allow up to two HDD's or two SSD's.
