OMEN 25L Desktop PC GT12-1000a (ID 1Z1C0AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hi
I'm looking to expand my desktop storage by adding a second PCIe x4 Gen 3 SSD, however in my motherboard expansion slots it mention that only one for SSD, does that mean I can't install a second?

 my desktop: OMEN 25L GT12-1520nd

  • Expansion Slots:
    • One PCI Express 4.0 x16 lanes
    • One PCI Express 3.0 x1 lanes
    • One M.2 socket 1, key A
    • Two M.2 sockets 3, key M (one for SSD card PCIe x4 Gen 3)

    Thanks

You're very welcome.

Yes, the motherboard supports two M.2 NVMe 2280 SSD's.

If you look again at the eBay motherboard listing, you will see a third M.2 position for the Wi-Fi card which is M.2 2230.

The slot is right below the lower M,2 SSD position in the picture and if you magnify the picture, you will see 'WLAN' printed in white on the motherboard by the slot.  The silver-colored M.2 standoff to hold down the Wi-Fi card is to the right on the edge of the motherboard.

Hi:

Below is the link to the product specs for your PC:

OMEN 25L GT12-1520nd Desktop PC Product Specifications | undefined

It comes with a HP 'Hana' motherboard.

Here is an eBay listing for a Hana motherboard and it clearly shows two NVMe SSD slot positions.

They would be underneath the SSD thermal enclosures.

Hi Paul,

Thank you for your answer, I'm aware that Hana' motherboard comes with two NVMe SSD slot positions,
but my question here is it true one of the slots already used by the wifi/blutooth card "see below it uses an M2 interface, and the other for the ssd? so I can't install another NVMe SSD?
