OMEN by HP Desktop PC - 870-130
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

This desktop computer came with an SSD drive and a hard drive. Wondering if it has a slot to add an additional hard drive. Thought I would ask here before going to the trouble of cracking open the case.

OK, sort of. :indifferent:

From: OMEN by HP Desktop PC - 870-130 Product Specifications

Product Number: X6F55AA

Release Date: 17-Oct-2016

the Pegatron motherboard has:
  • Form factor: uATX: 24.0x24.0 cm (9.4x9.4 in)
  • Chipset: Z170
  • Memory sockets: 4 x DDR4

and the picture shows 5 SATA ports (your CD/DVD, your SSD device, your disk-drive, 2 unused).

Watch: HP Omen 870-260In Desktop PC Review | Digit.in

Pause this YouTube video at either the 0:28 or the 0:59 point, to see the drive-cage.

You'll see two SATA cables entering the cage, and two "power" connectors, connected to the SSD and the disk-drive.

There seems to be room inside the cage for another disk-drive.

There seems be another power-connector available, in the immediate vicinity.

Of course, you can run another SATA cable from the motherboard to the additional disk-drive.

Note that those SATA cables each have an "L-shaped" connector, to properly fit into the chassis -- be sure to buy/use such a cable, if you need to replace the side-panel.

@Scott51,

You will need Fillister head screws to mount the hard drive.

The specs are shown, all you need is to find the screws.

Thanks. That's very helpful, especially the tip about the L-shaped cable.
