Hey, I have a HP Victus 15L Gaming Desktop, My specs are: GeForce RTX 3050 OEM, SINGLE-CHANNEL 8GB DDR4 3200 MT/s, SAMSUNG SSD 475GB, AMD Ryzen 5 5600G. I was wondering if I can change the ram by myself In my PC from SINGLE-CHANNEL 8GB RAM, To SINGLE-CHANNEL 16GB Ram. The 16GB Ram has the perfect amount of MT/s and everything correct so its compatible with my PC, However I don't know If Switching from the Old Ram to the new ram will do Anything to my PC at all, Also I am scared To change it since I don't want to Break my PC, and I don't know what will my pc boot into or show on the screen after I turn it on after changing the RAM. Can anyone help?

Greetings @Lukas50
Your MB supports dual channel memory when both memory slots are populated. So, instead of one 16 GB stick, use two 8 GB sticks or do two 16 GB sticks to get 32 GBs of memory.
It is usually advisable to install memory kits. Mixing HP memory modules with different memory modules may cause problems.
Victus 15L MBs generally don't support AMD's DOCP or Intel's XMP memory over clocking in the BIOS. HP installs specific memory modules which will run at 3200 MT/s (dual channel mode) in your AMD MB. You may only get 2400 MT/s using non HP dual channel memory modules rated at 3200 MT/s.
You will only get single channel mode when using one stick of RAM. Dual channel requires at least two sticks of RAM.
It is very difficult to buy higher capacity HP memory modules from HP. Many folks in the Forum have had good results with Crucial Memory modules.
Check this Video on how to upgrade RAM at YouTube.
You can skip the DOCP stuff (your MB does not support this) and you can skip the clear CMOS stuff.
Disconnect from AC power then depress and hold down the power button a few time to drain residual MB power if you want to clear CMOS. Remove the CR3032 MB battery. Let the PC sit for a bit to reset CMOS. Reinstall the MB battery.
Anything can happen when upgrading components. Things may go great or you could get a BIOS error code at startup after installing memory. Or the memory will not run at 3200 MT/s.
