Product: HP ProDesk 400 G2 Base Model Small Form Factor PC
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
I am curious if it is possible to switch my PC's disk type from an HDD to an SSD since my PC is so laggy.

Oh yes you can: Memory RAM & SSD Upgrades | hp - compaq | prodesk | HP ProDesk 400 G2 SFF | Crucial.com -look at the "Internal SSD" upgrade options -not just Crucial SSDs of course, ANY SSD would do.
SSDs are specifically mentioned as a drive option in your SFF's specs: HP ProDesk 400 G2 Small Form Factor Business PC Product Specifications | HP® Customer Support
Hope this helps.
Kind Regards,
