Interested in purchasing an HP Pavilion 6YQ50AA#ABA Series, which comes with one SSD and one SATA hard drive. Is there a bay or physical room and the available connections to install another (third) SATA drive in that enclosure, or would I have to go with an external hard drive? Thanks in advance for your response and assistance.

Your motherboard has 3 SATA connectors.
One for the optical drive
One for the 1tb hard drive
There is one left over
I assume your are counting the M.2 SSD drive as one of the existing "hard drives"
The SATA power cable needs an extra connector for attaching to your third drive. If not then you need a Y or splitter cable in addition to a data cable.
If you do not have an optical drive you can add an additional drive.
I do not know how much space is available like an empty 3.5" drive bay. If no available bay then get an SSD. They have no mechanical parts and can hang loose if no place to fit.
If you want to add a lot of storage for movies or whatever, consider getting an inexpensive NAS like a 2 unit Synology. system. It can be accessed from anywhere on the internet.
