HP Elitedesk 800 35W MIni Deskto
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi

I would like to add a 2nd SSD Hard Drive to my HP Elitedesk 800 35W MIni Desktop.  It came with the 512Gig SSD.

Can I actually install another HD or is the only way to purchase a larger drive such as 1TB?

Thanks,

Paul

Hi,

Review the Hardware Reference Guide and the Maintenance and Service Guide.

There are two internal drive bays. One for a 2.5" form factor device and one for a m.2 device.

One review site indicated that the unit they evaluated came with a 128 GB NVMe m.2 SSD.

Hi Big Dave,

My apologies - I didn't input the full Model Number of my HP computer.  It's a G3 (HP Elitedesk 800 35W MIni Desktop) not G2.  I looked at the Manual and it seems to state that there is one other Expansion Slot.

I have the SAMSUNG_MZVLW512HMJP-000H1 which appears to be installed in the M2 Slot.

Manual says 'Desktop mini 2nd HDD only available when 1st storage drive is M2 drive.

So my belief is that I should be able to add another drive.  Not sure of which one because I don't understand a lot of this computer technology.  I'll probably take it to a computer shop and have them look at it and order me a drive.  Might cost me more than doing it myself but save me ordering the wrong type of drive.

Thanks again, Big Dave!
