I assume you already looked at this spec
There is no i7 listed. However, I do see that Xeon 4 core can work (probably after a BIOS upgrade). The 4 core Xeon is same as i7 but there is no graphics processor. They are mostly slower as the fastest one is 2.93 and comparable to entry level i3-530. You would need to add a graphics board and probably upgrade the power supply.
You have a first generation Intel chip Clarkdale socket 1156 I would not take a chance on a Lynnfield (i7 first gen 1156). Even then, the top end boost speed is 3.07 which is less than your i3 or i5 can hit. You would be picking up more cores but running slower. That would be OK for mining but not for gaming.
