EliteDesk 800 G4 SSF
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I was trying to order a customized EliteDesk 800 G4 SSF with an I5 or I7 processor and had that in my cart. When I ordered it (a couple weeks later) the CPU was replaced with the "GOLD" CPU. I just received the unit and it is extreemly slow. It looks like they are still out of I5 and I7 CPUs, so I can't really return and upgrade. The CPUs listed in the Hardware Reference Guide  for "HP EliteDesk 800G4 SFF Business PC" seems to indicate I can upgrade to the i5 CPU.

I would like to verify this is correct. I believe the correct 8th gen core is:

Intel Core i5-8500 Coffee Lake 6-Core 3.0 GHz (4.1 GHz Turbo) LGA 1151 (300 Series) 65W BX80684I58500 Desktop Processor Intel UHD Graphics 630

Can someone verify this upgrade will work? Othewise I'll probable have to return it and pay the 15% restocking fee.

Thanks for the help.

@spelunker76

There is a list of CPU's/Processors supported on the following link

Some Intel Pentium Gold processors are on the list.

Thanks for the quick reply. That was my assumption. I just wanted to get a confirmation. I'll add a post when I upgrade with any details.
