HP Pavilion p7-1280t CTO Desktop PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The last time I let my desktop ungrade to Windows 11 I got the blue screen of death.  After several months I found my  recovery discs and reinstalled Windows 10.

Is there any way to upgrade the hardware to run Windows 11?

Hi:

Unfortunately, there is no way to upgrade that model's hardware to support W11.

There is no TPM, no secure boot, and the motherboard will not support an Intel 8th gen core processor.

I've upgraded 11 unsupported HP and Dell notebook and desktop PC's to W11 and they all run better on W11 than they did on W10.

My 8200 Elite CMT has an i7-2600 processor and the Intel Q67 chipset and W11 works fine on that one, which is similar in age and architecture to yours.

Sorry you had problems with yours.

Thank you for the quick response 🙂 .  I guess it's time to buy a new one.

Do you have any suggestions of what would be a good pc for someone that just surfs the web, reads emails, and watches YouTube?  I'd like to get something that's more future proof.

You're very welcome.

Unfortunately, I am not familiar with what new HP consumer class desktop PC'S would be a good option for you.

I buy off lease HP and Dell business class PC'S on eBay, the HP Elite desk and Dell Optiplex towers, which offer reliability and decent performance.

New, they are expensive--in excess of  $1,000 for one with decent specs.

That's why I buy them when they are 3 to 5 years old.
