I have problems playing games such as flightsim. I have upgraded RAM to 14GB. Am I flogging a dead horse or are there options to upgrade? Any advice much appreciated. Regards Dave

having problems
what.?
FPS
lag.
2nd episoid (maP) level change reloads
what?
game problems is , endless... if ever there was, this tops the cake,
if have speed issues, be sure to defrage the hdd game folder.
and lower the graphic rates, click options video in game and wick down all that fancy texturing.
then be happy?
also put the A/V-malware modes in GAME mode it you will be slowed down./
also turn off many things in the MSconfig starup folder, or in w10 was moved to taskmager. (startuP turn off many there. for sure the 10 update engines, and HP, printer blabla bs box. and well all that useless stuff there.
killing games.
any thing using background processing time, kill it. dead. (use taskmanager to see the offenders live)

Thank you for joining HP Forums.
I'll be glad to help you 🙂
As I understand you need information about upgrading your graphics card,
No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:
Did you check the specifications of the graphics card of your preference?
(If you haven't, Click here for details of the AMD Radeon™-HD-8570D)
The current graphics card you have consumes 50Watts of PSU whereas the card of your preference require 65Watts and hence you may have to upgrade to a bigger Power Supply to match the specifications and ensure proper consumption of power for other components of your PC.
That said, if you are interested in gaming alone, I recommend checking out the HP Omen Collection designed for gaming: Click here
(Considering, upgrading old PCs could get expensive at times, however, that's your call).
If I have helped you resolve the issue,

flogging dead horse its only 3 years old 2014 or less.
but do you need 60fps video on games to be happy, gee we dont know that?
or 20 ok... (like oldfartslikeme)
how old is this thing?
that be first. getting in that much ram , was magic no? most cant do that.
Pavillion 500 141ea
AMD 4 CORE.
32GB possible MEM and is overkilll even yours is.
why not put in a SSD, first. for speed. move 1TB HDD to drive 2.
then any PCI video card that is affordable. faster.
just shop for fasted speed, GPU card that fits wallet.
see those bench marks< id get a NVIDA. and not look back.

Your actual inquiry was very vague. What is the exact name of this simulator. And the year.
If your asking about Flight Simulator X, then your AMD A8 6500 is too weak. It's that simple.
HP Envy 8 5010 Tablet
(2) HP DV7t i7 3160QM 2.3Ghz 8GB
Printer -- HP OfficeJet Pro 8620 Legal
Custom Asus Z97D, I7-4790k, 16GB RAM, WIN10 Pro 64bit, ZOTAC GTX1080 AMP Extreme 3 fan 8GB RAM, 500GB SSD, Asus PB287 4k monitor, Rosewill Blackhawk case and 750W OCZ PSU.

Thank you for answering my query. My graphics card is not up to playing flight sim (Flight Simulator X, FlightGear Flight Simulator). That essentially is all I needed to know. I will look into upgrading my graphics or PC in due course. Thanks again.
