Looking to see if I can update the microprocessor on a ProDesk 400 G4 MT to a model that MSFT says will support Win11 upgrade (or if it can be done with relative ease by qualified professional). Currently running Win10 / 64 bit on processor model Intel Core i7-7700 CPU (shipped with system 6 years ago). MSFT "PC Health Check" checks off all requirements for Win11 as "green" (Secure Boot, TPM version, DDRAM, disk capacity, 4 cores) - but the one roadblock is the processor model type itself. Can anyone on the forum verify if this is "do-able"? And which "supported" processor(s) would work if it is? Many thanks!

Welcome to our HP community forum!
The only available processor upgrade you may consider would be an i7-7700K, like this HP ProDesk G4 MT User did. Even so, your desktop cannot be fitted with a Windows 11 "approved" processor (8th gen and higher) as per Microsoft.
But not to worry, our Senior Expert @Paul_Tikkanen has provided an easy-to-follow step by step procedure to upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11 for legacy desktops.
