Hp pavilion slimline s5213w
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)
I just wanted to know if I can upgrade my hp pavilion slimline s5213w ram and pcie without frying my motherboard? I'm looking for the correct specs to increase memory and graphics right now I'm currently working with 4gb of ram and a nvidia geforce with cuda.

@Hamblinderrick, welcome to the forum.

 

Here is the Product Specifications page for the computer.  If you look at the Memory upgrade section you will see that 4 GB is the maximum memory that can be installed.

 

As for the video card (PCIe), it is difficult to upgrade the video in a Slimline model.  The power supply unit (PSU) is only 220W.  Most newer cards require at least 300W.  Also, they require UEFI in the motherboard instead of a Legacy/standard BIOS.  Your computer was released in 2009 and HP didn't begin using UEFI until mid-October, 2012.  The last video cards not to require UEFI were the GTX 660/670 series.

Thanks yeah I will stick to the factory settings because my hard drive is up to date with android as far as Tesla goes. I guess you can say they are before there time.
