HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop PC TG01-2000a (2Z6E2AV)

I recently purchased an HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop TG01-2022 PC with a 512 GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD. I'd like to replace it with a Samsung 980 Pro SSD 1TB PCIe NVMe Gen 4 M.2 memory card. Am I able to add the new SSD without removing the original drive?

Hi:

Below is the link to the product specs for your PC.

HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop TG01-2022 PC Product Specifications | HP® Customer Support

According to the motherboard chipset specs, it supports a PCIe Gen 4 NVMS SSD such as the Samsung 980 Pro.

Socket AM4 B550 Chipset Motherboards | AMD

However, you will need to remove and replace the existing 512 GB NVMe SSD with the Samsung 980 Pro as there is only one M.2 slot available.

When you look at the expansion slot specs for the motherboard, that assumes you are looking at an empty motherboard with nothing installed.

Your PC has a M.2 Wi-Fi adapter and M.2 SSD installed so there are no available M.2 expansion slots.
